A brief history of the club
The club was formed in 1984 as Framfield and Blackboys Colts, which then became Wealden Colts and then AFC Uckfield Colts, following U18’s progression to AFC Uckfield Town through the age groups to the first team. Growing up with the club is what Colts is all about, and as result we have a loyal player base.
Traditionally Colts is a strong family club, encouraging participation from parents in both training as well as the running of the club – from social enterprises to fund raising and sponsorship ventures.
AFC Uckfield Colts is an FA Charter Standard Club and with that comes the structure, discipline and development standards that the FA currently strive for with grassroots football. The club strongly aligns itself with the principles the FA Charter Standard scheme sets out to achieve and this is evident in its daily practices.
As with all FA Charter Standard clubs, all our coaches are either accredited or on the way to becoming accredited.
We encourage parents to join in training as much as possible and when spaces become available, we encourage parents join our coaching team, helping them each step of the way to becoming FA qualified. With the FA Coaching qualifications comes a skill set in how to get the best out of the children, with regards to their enjoyment of the game, whilst adhering to common principals with regards to safety and respect.
